
West Virginia Competes in Split-Squad Weekend

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team will compete in two different meets on April 19-20.
West Virginia will send redshirt junior Cassandra Williamson to the Virginia Challenge on Friday, which will be held at Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, Virginia. Williamson will compete in the women's 800-meter invitational at 6:25 p.m. ET.
The Mountaineers will serve as host for the Mountaineer Twilight at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown. West Virginia's second home meet of the season begins on Saturday morning with the men's and women's hammer throw.
Last time out, WVU split the weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 12-13 in Azusa, California and the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 13-14 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Williamson highlighted the weekend for West Virginia, shattering the program record in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:04.51 on Friday in Azusa.
Williamson went on to add the fastest time for West Virginia in the women 400 meters on Saturday, with a time of 56.37. Freshman Kishay Rowe trailed behind with a personal best time of 56.83.
