
McCabe Set to Compete at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt junior Ceili McCabe will represent the West Virginia University track and field team on March 8-9 at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship.
This year's championship will be held at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.
The championship will be streamed live on Friday and Saturday on ESPN+, while live results can be found online at WVUsports.com.
McCabe is slated to compete in the women's mile on Friday evening at 7 p.m. ET, in the semifinal race. The top eight finishers in each event will move on to Saturday's final, with the women's mile final kicking off at 7 p.m.
Additionally, First Team All-America status will be awarded to the top eight finishers in each event, while Second Team All-America status is awarded to finishers 9-16. Student-athletes and relays must have a valid mark in at least one round at the championship to earn All-America status, those who do not finish or are disqualified will not be eligible to receive honors.
A Vancouver, British Columbia, native, McCabe currently ranks No. 7 nationally in the women's mile, after posting a time of 4:30.24 on Jan. 27 at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge in New York, New York.
Last time out, McCabe finished third in the mile at the Big 12 Indoor Championship on Feb. 24, with a time of 4:38.57. She also aided in West Virginia's win of the women's distance medley relay at the conference championship on Feb. 23, running for a time of 4:39.28 in the last leg of the event.
