Box Score MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 61 West Virginia University tennis team lost to TCU, 4-0, at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown on Friday.
The match began at the Mountaineer Tennis Courts before rain forced the match to be suspended. Play resumed at Summit Tennis Academy.
West Virginia (11-2, 0-1 Big 12) fought in doubles play, but was unable to win two of three matches to earn the point. The doubles team comprised of graduate student
Ting-Pei Chang and junior
Tatiana Lipatova earned a win in the No. 3 seed doubles, 7-5.
In singles play, West Virginia struggled. In the No. 2 seed match, freshman
Maya Bordereau lost to TCU's Isabel Pascual, 6-0, 6-1. Graduate student
Love-Star Alexis was defeated in the No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 7-5.
TCU secured the victory when Chang lost to TCU's Helena Narmont, 6-0, 7-5, in the No. 5 singles match. The other three singles matches went unfinished.
