West Virginia Looks to Reach Double Digit Wins Against Navy, Mount St. Mary’s

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team will play host to Navy and Mount St. Mary's in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
West Virginia (9-1) will face Navy at 10 a.m. ET and Mount St. Mary's at 3 p.m.
The Mountaineers have their best record through 10 matches since the 2015 season when they also began 9-1. WVU is currently riding a four-match winning streak.
With a win against either Navy or Mount St. Mary's, West Virginia will reach double-digit wins for the second straight season. It would be the first time the Mountaineers have accomplished this feat since the 2006 and 2007 seasons. It will also be the third time under head coach Miha Lisac that West Virginia has reached double-digit wins.
Senior Momoko Nagato and redshirt sophomore Maja Dodik lead the team in singles play as each has eight wins this year. Nagato has the best overall record at 8-1. Dodik is 8-2.
Freshman Maya Bordereau has the second most wins on the team at 7-2. As a team, West Virginia is 40-16 overall in singles.
In doubles play, the pairing of Bordereau and Dodik lead the way at 8-1 this season. As a pair, Nagato and junior Michaela Kucharova are 5-1. WVU is 15-9 overall in doubles play this year.
