
West Virginia Kicks Off Final Road Trip of the Season Against No. 19 Utah

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (8-14, 2-9 Big 12) travels to face off against No. 19 Utah on Nov. 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah. First serve is slated for 9 p.m. ET, inside of the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Thursday's match marks the first meeting between the Mountaineers and Utes, as Utah joined the Big 12 conference this year after being a part of the Pac-12 conference.
Last time out, the Mountaineers fell in three set to Arizona, 3-0 on Nov. 17 inside of the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. West Virginia was led by junior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim who tallied 11 kills, while hitting .536%. Additionally, senior outside hitter Hailey Green notched 10 kills.
Junior middle blocker Chalina Lederer led the defense with five total blocks, of which three were solo stops.
West Virginia ranks No. 5 in the Big 12 with 153 service aces in 99 sets, averaging 1.55 aces per set. Redshirt junior outside hitter Cassidy Tanton checks in at No. 8 in the league with her 34 aces in 93 sets, as she averages 0.37 aces per set.
Beth Launiere is in her 35th season at the helm of the Utes and boasts a career record of 649-419. Utah enters the match, 21-5 with a 11-4 mark in conference play. The Utes return home after defeating UCF, 3-2 on Nov. 16 in Orlando, Florida.
