McCabe Named Big 12 Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Ceili McCabe of the West Virginia University track and field team has been named the Big 12 Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
The honor is the first for a Mountaineer this season and marks the first Big 12 weekly award of McCabe's career.
The Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada native ran the mile at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge in New York, New York on Saturday, Jan. 27 and replaced the program-leading record she held last season, with a time of 4:30.24.
With the mark, McCabe now leads the conference in the women's mile and holds the nation's third-best time in the event this season.
Next up, the Mountaineers will travel to the Sykes & Sabock Challenge at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pennsylvania. The meet is slated for a 10:30 a.m. ET start.
