Sarah Tait of the West Virginia University cross country team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Tait finished second overall in the women's 6k Crimson Race on Sept. 23 at the Lock Haven Invitational in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, held at the West Branch Cross Country Course.
In her first competition as a Mountaineer, the redshirt senior broke the West Virginia record at the course at well as the meet record with a time of 20:14.4. The course record was previously held by Megan Metcalfe with a time of 20:19, since 2003.
The Mountaineers return to the grass on Saturday, Sept. 30 for the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The race will be held at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course and is slated for 11:45 a.m. ET.
