
Covich Announces Signing of Carson Kammann

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University golf coach Sean Covich has announced the signing of Carson Kammann to a grant-in-aid for the 2023-24 academic year.
Kammann, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, attended East Tennessee State in 2022-23. He posted an average of 72.48 with a low round of 67 during his freshman season.
Kammann tied for ninth in the Maui Jim Invitational with rounds of 67-71-72 and tied for 30th in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate with rounds of 70-74-69. He tied for 35th at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate with rounds of 67-74-70.
"We are excited about adding Carson to our WVU golf family," Covich said. "He will add even more depth to an already talented roster. In addition, he will fit with our squad from a culture standpoint. I look forward to working with Carson and all of our returning players next season."
Kammann played golf and swam at Knoxville West High. Kammann was a quarterfinalist in the Tennessee State Match Play in 2020 and finished third in the Tennessee Junior Amateur in the same season. He was named to the 2020 and 2021 Tennessee Junior Cup Team. Kammann qualified for the 2021 & 2022 U.S. Amateur and for the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. He was a two-time district champion in golf (2020 and 2021), finishing second in the state championship in 2021 and fourth in 2022. Kammann took home championship honors at the Sneds Elite at Harrison Bay in 2022.
Carson is the son of Scott and Kristin Kammann. His father played collegiate golf at Tennessee and his grandfather played golf at SIU-Edwardsville.
