West Virginia Continues at Bucknell University

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team continues on the road at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University on April 15-16 at Christy Matthewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
The Bison Outdoor Classic is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, with action on Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Live results and streaming can be found at wvusports.com.
Saturday marks the second consecutive season the Mountaineers have competed in Lewisburg. Last year at Bucknell, WVU posted six top-five individual finishes in seven events. Then-sophomore Maria Kaylor earned second in the 3,000-meter run. Kaylor's classmates Jo-Lauren Keane and Cassandra Williamson competed in the 800-meter. Keane took fourth with a time of 2:08.29 while Williamson secured fifth, crossing the finish line at 2:08.82. Then-redshirt senior Hayley Jackson placed fourth for West Virginia in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:25.16, and then-senior Sada Wright threw a discus 45.94 meters to take fifth. Then-redshirt junior Malina Mitchell rounded out the top five appearances for WVU with a mile run time of 5:18.04.
Saturday begins with the discus in the field and continues with the 1,500-meter run, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 5,000-meter run, 10,000-meter run and wraps up with the invitational of those events on the track. Sunday showcases the shot put and pole vault in the field with the 3,000-meter run, mile, 4x100 relay, 800-meter, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter run, 100-meter dash, 400 hurdles, 200-meter dash, 4x800 relay and 1,600-meter relay.
