Berlitz Qualifies for NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Danny Berlitz of the West Virginia University men's swimming team has qualified to represent the Mountaineers at the 2023 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on March 22-25, held at the Jean K Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Berlitz has been invited to swim the 400 IM. Additionally, he will swim the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke.
During the 2023 season, the Drums, Pennsylvania native secured four first-place finishes. The first came against Pitt on Jan. 14, in the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:52.71. Against Villanova, Berlitz added three more with 400 medley relay team, as well as the 100 back (48.86) and the 200 IM (1:47.92).
Berlitz added three second-place finishes against Pitt in the 200 free, 200 medley relay and 200 breaststroke.
At the Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas, on Feb. 22-25, Berlitz made an appearance in three individual championship events, finishing sixth in the 200 IM (1:45.78), fifth in the 400 IM (3:46.88) and sixth in the 200 breastsroke (1:56.76). Berlitz was also a member of the 400 free relay team and 200 free relay teams who secured silver medals, as well as the 200 medley relay team and 400 medley relay teams who both added bronze medals.
