MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Andrew Caridi interviews the Signal Caller, Jed Drenning, to get his thoughts on the 2023 Mountaineer football schedule, revealed earlier this week.
Back on the slate are two of West Virginia's longest traditional rivals – Pitt and Penn State, who made up half of what was once known as the "Big 4", which also included West Virginia and Syracuse.
West Virginia will open the 2023 campaign in University Park, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, Sept. 2, while the Panthers will be making their first Milan Puskar Stadium appearance in 12 years on Saturday, Sept. 16.
With those two Power 5 programs on the non-conference docket, West Virginia's 2023 slate will once again rank among the most difficult in the country with 11 Power 5 foes.
Duquesne is the only non-power conference opponent on this year's schedule.
Also, Andrew caught up with West Virginia University senior women's basketball player Danni Nichols, who was familiar with coach Dawn Plitzuweit when the two were competing as rivals in the Summit League and are now together at the Power 5 level.
You can catch radio coverage of Saturday's men's game against Oklahoma at 8 p.m. on stations throughout West Virginia, online via WVUsports.com and the popular apps WVU Gameday and The Varsity Network.
The women will also be facing Oklahoma in Norman at 3 p.m.
