West Virginia Earns Six Top-Five Finishes at Bison Classic

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The West Virginia University track and field team completed action at the Bison Outdoor Classic with six top-five individual finishes in seven events. The meet took place on April 15-16 at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
On the track, sophomore Maria Kaylor placed second in the 3,000-meter run. Kaylor finished in a time of 10:08.05. Redshirt senior Hayley Jackson took fourth place in the 1,500-meter run, where she finished in a time of 4:25.16.
Up next, sophomores Jo-Lauren Keane (2:08.29) and Cassandra Williamson (2:08.82) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 800-meter run. Additionally, redshirt junior Malina Mitchell placed fifth (5:18.04) in the mile run.
Senior Sada Wright placed fifth in the discus competition. Wright threw a distance of 45.94 meters.
West Virginia returns home for the Mountaineer Showcase on April 22-23 at The Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia.
