Bison Classic Up Next for WVU

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The West Virginia University track and field team continues action at the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 15-16 at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Thursday's action is tabbed for 10 a.m. ET, followed by Friday's competition at 8:30 a.m. and Saturday's action at 10 a.m. Live results for the meet are available at WVUSports.com.
WVU last saw action at the Bison Classic on April 13-14, 2019. The Mountaineers competed in five events on the final day of the two-day competition at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium, earning top-five finishes in three of them.
Then-redshirt senior Bria Welker led the way with a second-place finish in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 56.40. Also on the track, then-freshman Peter-Gay McKenzie took third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.82, while then-freshman Marianne Abdalah finished fourth in the 3,000 meters in 10:18.09.
Last week, WVU traveled to the Mason Spring Invitational on April 9, at George Mason Stadium, in Fairfax, Virginia. West Virginia earned four individual first-place finishes on Saturday.
In field events, junior Katelyn Caccamo placed first in the green division pole vault competition with a height of 3.57 meters. Senior Peter-Gay McKenzie followed in the long jump competition and finished with a distance of 5.80 meters.
Senior Tessa Constantine took first place in the 400-meter hurdles on the track, with a personal best time of 1:00.54. Constantine was followed by sophomore Jo-Lauren Keane, recording a time of 2:07.43 in the 800-meter.
Additionally, sophomore Lynsie Curtis took second in the green division pole vault competition, with a height of 3.42 meters. Senior Myesha Nott took second in the triple jump (12.05 meters), while senior Sada Wright placed second in the discus throw (44.54 meters).
In the 800-meter run, sophomore Cassandra Williamson and redshirt senior Hayley Jackson placed third (2:08.51) and fourth (2:08.65), respectively.
