
McCabe Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After earning first place at the 2022 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Cross Country Championships, in State College, Pennsylvania, last week with a 6k time of 19:58.3, redshirt junior Ceili McCabe of the cross country team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
McCabe became the first Mountaineer to win back-to-back individual NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional titles after also winning an individual regional title in 2021. The Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, native has blown by the competition this season, finishing first in every race she has competed in.
The cross country team also had a historic day, earning an NCAA bid for coach Sean Cleary. The Mountaineers continue the 2022 postseason campaign at the NCAA National Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Nov. 19.
