Davenport Leads WVU After 18 Holes at Isleworth Collegiate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Jackson Davenport shot 3-under-par to lead the West Virginia University golf team during the first round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational at Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Florida.
The junior from Austin, Texas, recorded five birdies on the day, including four of the last seven holes for his 69 round. He is currently tied for eighth place, three shots off the lead.
Freshman Kaleb Wilson shot even par and is tied for 17th place, while senior Trent Tipton shot 3-over-par and is tied for 37th place. Junior Will Stakel shot 4-over-par and is tied for 44th place, while sophomore Todd Duncan posted an 82. Sophomore Max Green is competing as an individual and shot a 5-over-par 77.
The Mountaineers are currently tied for sixth place after 18 holes with No. 24 Arizona. West Virginia is one shot ahead of No. 57 South Carolina and No. 72 California and two shots ahead of No. 9 Illinois and Minnesota in the 15-team field.
The second round begins Monday morning with the final 18 holes scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
