Mountaineers Host West Virginia State Games

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams officially kick off the 2022-23 campaign with the West Virginia State Games from Oct. 14-15, at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park, in Morgantown.
Action begins on Friday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 p.m. ET, followed by the second session on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. This weekend's meet will be the first of seven home meets this season.

The annual WV State Games feature swimming and diving programs from across the state of West Virginia. Now in its 11th season, WVU is hosting the meet for the seventh time and second since 2019.
Nine teams will join WVU in Morgantown this weekend, including Alderson Broaddus, Bethany, Davis & Elkins, Fairmont State, Marshall, Salem, Wheeling University, WVU Tech and West Virginia Wesleyan.
The Mountaineers dominated last year, as West Virginia combined to win all 30 events of the State Games. On the men's side, WVU tallied 1,714 points to continue their steak of winning each event for the last 10 seasons.
The women's team has won the meet in nine of its 10 seasons. The squad swept competition last year and took the top spot with 1,544.5 points.
