MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's diving teams are set to travel to the 2021 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, set for March 11-13, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The championship is set to begin on Thursday, March 11, with the men competing on 3-meter springboard and the women competing on 1-meter. The men and women will trade events on Friday, March 11, with the men competing on 1-meter and the women competing on 3-meter. The championship concludes on Saturday, March 13 with the men's and women's platform competitions. Each day of competition begins with prelims at 10:30 a.m. ET, with the finals beginning immediately following the conclusion of finals.

DiveMeets.com. The meet will determine the zone's qualifiers for the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
"It was definitely a quick turnaround for the team, following Big 12s last week, but we're excited to build on the momentum from the conference meet," diving coach
Karla Helder said. "We took the week to go over some things that needed improvement from Big 12s and how we can apply those improvements at Zones this week."
To qualify for the meet, the women were required to score at least 265 points on 1-meter, 280 points on 3-meter and 225 points on platform throughout the 2021 season. The men's qualifying standards were 300 points on 1-meter, 320 points on 3-meter and 300 points on platform.
The top-six divers on 1-meter, top five on 3-meter and top four on platform will qualify for the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, while the women will advance the top-six divers on 1-meter, as well as the top four on 3-meter and platform.
Divers from Boston College, George Mason, James Madison, Liberty, Navy, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Towson, Virginia and Virginia Tech are scheduled to join the Mountaineers in Greensboro.
A pair of Mountaineers qualified for the NCAA Championships at the 2020 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, hosted by WVU at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park for the first time in program history. Cardinal Tremblay and Cover placed inside the top four during the platform finals to qualify for the championships. The duo became the first West Virginia divers to qualify for the national meet since 1983, while also becoming the first NCAA qualifiers of former Mountaineer diving coach
Michael Grapner's career.
Last time out, West Virginia competed at the 2021 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship, from March 1-3, at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas. Lenz paced the squad on the third night of competition, earning a bronze medal and school record in the platform finals. Lenz's total of 377.00 bested the previous WVU record of 349.80. Additionally, Lenz, Cover, Tremblay, Lowe, Johns, Burt and Darling also represented the Mountaineers in finals throughout the conference championship.
