MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia coach
Neal Brown had his regularly scheduled video conference with media earlier today at the Milan Puskar Center. His weekly video conferences are presented by Panhandle Cleaning & Restoration.
Brown detailed his bye week practice plans as the Mountaineers prepare for their Big 12 opener on Saturday, Sept. 26, against Oklahoma State at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Cowboys will open the 2020 campaign this Saturday in a noon contest against Tulsa – a week after the two teams were regularly scheduled to play. A spike in COVID-19 cases within the Golden Hurricanes program last week forced the postponement.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said during his Monday morning Big 12 coaches' teleconference that there were no positive cases within his program.
West Virginia (1-0) opened 2020 with an impressive 56-10 victory over Eastern Kentucky last Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium.
"A big win on Saturday," Brown said. "It was fun to be out there competing again."
Brown on Tuesday announced the team award winners for Eastern Kentucky.

"It was a good start to our season," Brown said. "I'm glad we got to play a lot of people in our opener. This is a week that's not like a typical bye week. We've got to continue to make improvement. We are going to have more camp-style practices than bye-week style practices.
"There will be a lot of good on good work this week looking to continue to improve as we go into our Big 12 opener," Brown added.
The Oklahoma State game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST and will be televised nationally on either ABC or ESPN.
