MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University tennis coach Miha Lisac announced Thursday the addition of Hunter Bleser (New Braunfels, Texas/Virginia/Austin Tennis Academy) to the Mountaineer roster for the 2020-21 season.
"We are excited to add Hunter to the 2020 recruiting class," Lisac said. "As a graduate transfer, Hunter brings a wealth of experience and is an outstanding addition to our program. We are excited to have the returners together with the newcomers back together in the fall semester and put our program on the map."
Bleser compiled a career singles record of 41-35 during her four seasons with the Cavaliers, while posting more than 25 career doubles victories. During her junior season, she went 6-4 in ACC play and finished with a record of 8-5 in dual matches, winning seven of her final 10 matches to cap the season. Following her sophomore season, Bleser was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
In high school, Bleser ranked as high as No. 45 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net and was rated as a five-star recruit. At New Braunsfels High School, she finished third in the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) Champions in mixed doubles Class 6A and led her team to the finals at Texas State Championships for Class 6A. She also won the 2014 Zone Team Championships and the 2015 G18s doubles closed regional. Hunter is the daughter of Karl and Dolly Bleser.
