Mountaineers Rank No. 19 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team (11-1, 1-0 Big 12) remains No. 19 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 Poll, announced Monday.
The Mountaineers received 239 points in this week's poll to rank No. 19 for the third consecutive week. West Virginia is four points behind No. 18 Arizona (13-1) and 84 points ahead of No. 20 Missouri State (12-2). WVU's No. 19 ranking is the highest rank the team has achieved this season.
West Virginia is one of two Big 12 teams represented in the latest rankings. Baylor (11-1, 1-0 Big 12) ranks No. 6, with 614 points.
West Virginia next competes on Wednesday, Jan. 8, as the Mountaineers travel to Lawrence, Kansas, for a matchup against Kansas. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. ET from Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence.
