MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia coach Bob Huggins previews his team on the eve of preseason practice set to begin this Friday.
West Virginia will open the 2019-20 season on Friday, Nov. 8 at the WVU Coliseum against Akron. A week later, the Mountaineers will travel to Pitt to face the Panthers in the revival of the Backyard Brawl and will also face St. John's, Ohio State and Missouri in non-league play, as well as making an appearance in the Cancun Challenge with a potential matchup against either South Carolina or Wichita State looming.
The Saturday, Dec. 29 meeting with Ohio State will take place at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
WVU's Big 12 home opener is against last year's NCAA runner-up Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 11.
Missouri will be in Morgantown on Saturday, Jan. 25 as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
West Virginia's game against St. John's as part of the newly created Big 12/Big East Challenge will be played at historic Madison Square Garden.
