MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After two rounds of play, the West Virginia University golf team sits in fourth place at the Rutherford Intercollegiate in State College, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
The Mountaineers shot 290-289=579 for 11 over par on the par-71, PSU Blue Golf Course. Penn State sits atop the team leaderboard at three under, followed by Eastern Michigan in second at two-under par. UConn is third, shooting four over.
"We struggled to get anything going today," coach Sean Covich said. "For whatever reason, we got off to a horrible start early and just never got any positive momentum going. We will need a special round tomorrow out of our guys."

Matlari shot one-under par in the first round to sit in a tie for third place but finished the second round three-over par with a 74.
