MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Due to inclement weather in the area of Sandy Run Regional Park, the 2019 Occoquan Sprints have been canceled. The West Virginia University rowing team was scheduled to compete at the regatta today on the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Virginia.
Prior to the cancellation, six WVU boats were scheduled to compete in four different events – Women's Varsity 8+ (2 entries), Women's Second Varsity 8+, Women's Varsity 4+ (2 entries) and Women's Frosh/Novice 4+.
Looking Ahead
Following a week off from competition, West Virginia returns to Fairfax Station to compete at the George Mason Invite on Sunday, March 14.
The Mountaineers are set to compete at the George Mason Invite for the third consecutive year. Last season, WVU raced its way to two event final wins and helped the Big 12 collect 41 points to secure a conference victory.
