WVU Named All-Academic Team by USTFCCCA

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team was named an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
The Mountaineers earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.61 in the fall semester, marking the 11th time they have averaged better than a 3.5 in the last 12 years. In all, 427 Division I cross country programs were recognized, including 232 women's teams. All 10 Big 12 women's programs were honored.
To qualify, teams must have started at least five runners at an NCAA regional meet during the 2018 season. Teams also must have earned a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0.
WVU finished fourth at the 2018 Big 12 Championship in October and sixth at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in November. The Mountaineers listed seven on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team and won multiple meets (Charlotte Opener, Lock Haven Invitational) for the first time since 2011.
