Mountaineers Cap Fall Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rowing team concluded its fall season on Friday, as the novice squad traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to scrimmage Duquesne on the Allegheny River.
"We had a productive day," WVU assistant coach Tina Griffith said. "Overall, the boats did well, and I think today was a good way to end the fall season."
Each team set off from the Three Rivers Rowing Association at Washington's Landing, just outside of downtown Pittsburgh, at 11:20 a.m. ET on Friday. The Mountaineers and Dukes were joined by Robert Morris for Friday's scrimmage.
The Mountaineers boated two 8s and one 4-boat and competed in four, five-minute pieces up and down the Allegheny River. Friday marked the seventh consecutive season WVU has competed against Duquesne and third straight year with RMU.
Lineups are listed below, from stroke to bow:
1st Novice 8: Coxswain: Lucie Steinmetz; Madison Lindung, Taylor Mooers, Marissa Venezia, Kalyse Wood, Madison Schauer, Lisa Eller, Kara Phelps, Rebecca McCracken
2nd Novice 8: Coxswain: Isabelle Hidalgo; Laura Yates, Lindsey Crum, Michaela Pulick, Ruth Mierzejewski, Elizabeth Cassidy, Meredith Pavlovich, Pareera Uqaily, Alexis Moody
Novice 4: Coxswain: Amanda Starliper; Alexandria Fabiano, Calla Solomon, Kathleen Meldrum, Gabrielle Riggleman
