MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team received 45 votes in the latest USA TODAY Sports women's basketball coaches' poll, released Tuesday.
The Mountaineers were second in the "others receiving votes" category. Big 12 foes Oklahoma State and Iowa State received 19 and two votes, respectively, in this week's poll.
Baylor was the league's lone representative in the rankings for the second consecutive week, coming in at No. 2 with 767 points.
WVU nonconference opponents Mississippi State (No. 8), Michigan State (No. 15) and Syracuse (No. 16) also appear in the rankings.
West Virginia travels to Cancun, Mexico, from Nov. 28-29, for the 2019 Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Resort Riviera Maya. The Mountaineers are scheduled to play Creighton on Thursday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. ET and New Mexico on Friday, Nov. 29, at 4 p.m.
