WACO, Texas – Riding high on a three-game win streak, the West Virginia University women's basketball team travels to Waco, Texas, on Sunday for a showdown with No. 2/3 Baylor. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. ET at the Ferrell Center and is set to air on FS1.

The Mountaineers and the No. 2/3 Baylor Bears face off for the 17th time overall and 15th time in Big 12 play on Sunday. Baylor leads the all-time series 13-3. The first meeting between the two came Dec. 7, 1984, when West Virginia earned a 73-67, neutral-site win. The Mountaineers' biggest win against Baylor came in the 2017 Big 12 Tournament when WVU upset the No. 2 Bears, 77-66, to claim the title.
The two last met on Feb. 26, 2018, at the Ferrell Center with No. 3 Baylor grabbing an 80-54 win. Current senior guard
Naomi Davenport had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, along with three steals, to lead the team. The Mountaineers shot 32.8 percent as a team with seven 3-pointers. Additionally, they attempted just six free throws in the contest and came away with five points at the free-throw line.
West Virginia (12-4, 3-2) earned its biggest win of the season on Wednesday when it topped No. 18 Iowa State, 73-64, at home. The victory marked WVU's first over a ranked opponent since Dec. 3, 2017, when the Mountaineers downed Texas A&M, 70-56, at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas. Additionally, it was the Mountaineers' first triumph of a ranked opponent at the WVU Coliseum since Feb. 15, 2017, when they earned a 66-59 win over Kansas State.

Lucky Rudd went 11-of-13 at the free-throw line on her way to a career-high 22 points in the win. Redshirt junior guard
Tynice Martin, who has played all 40 minutes in four of the last five games, dropped 20 points for the third straight game and grabbed 11 rebounds to collect her third double-double of the season, marking the 11th double-double of the season for WVU. Senior guard
Naomi Davenport also finished in double figures, going 7-for-10 for 15 points in the game, adding eight rebounds as well.
Baylor, tied for No. 2 in the AP Poll and ranked at No. 3 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, enters Sunday's game with a 14-1 overall record and a 4-0 mark in Big 12 play. The team's lone loss came at Stanford by a score of 68-63 on Dec. 15. They've defeated South Carolina and the-No. 1 UConn as part of nonconference play.
The Bears are averaging 82.9 points and 48.8 rebounds per game and are shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from beyond the arc and 63.1 percent at the free-throw line. Led by Kalani Brown (15.1 ppg), four players average in double figures. She's followed by Lauren Cox (11.6 ppg), Chloe Jackson (11.5 ppg) and NaLyssa Smith (11.1 ppg). Brown also leads the rebounding effort with 7.1 boards per game and boasts 23 blocks on the season.
