MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team completed Sunday's Hokie Fall Invite tournament finale in stellar fashion, capturing seven total wins in the final day.
The doubles team of senior Abigail Rosiello and sophomore Anne-Sophie Courteau led the Mountaineers, earning a finals win in the Sacrifice Doubles flight.
"We progressed this weekend and got better in match play and handling competitive situations," WVU coach Miha Lisac said.
DOUBLES RECAP
Rosiello and Courteau proved to be the highlight of the three-day, season-opening event. The duo claimed a final round, tiebreaking doubles victory, 8-7 (6), over James Madison's Diane Flament and Amanda Nord in the Sacrifice Doubles flight. The performance marked the team's lone flight win of the weekend.
Doubles play concluded with another tiebreaking victory from junior Christina Jordan and sophomore Giovanna Caputo, as they captured a win, 8-7 (4), over Delaware's Tayo Adetunji and Annie Jaskulski in the Loyalty Doubles flight.
Senior Paula Goetz and freshman Anastasiia Bovolskaia withdrew from their Brotherhood Doubles flight match with James Madison's Abby Amos and Daniela Voloh.
SINGLES RECAP

Courteau claimed a two-set consolation win, 7-5, 7-5 (5), in the Duty Singles flight over Iowa State's Reggie Espindola in a tiebreaker.
Originally scheduled to compete against one another, Rosiello and fellow senior Kirsten White went toe-to-toe against different opponents in the Service Singles flight. Rosiello and White went on to secure victories over Virginia Tech's Jade Woo and Radford's Lilly Ellick, respectively.
