MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following a week off from competition, the West Virginia University tennis team is back on the road, as the squad heads to Lynchburg, Virginia, to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) DI Atlantic Women's Regionals from Oct. 12-16.
"We're looking at this tournament in a very similar way to how we looked at the last one, meaning that we want to go to the tournament and be able to get better by implementing things that we've been working on with individual players in match play," said coach Miha Lisac. "It is a regional championship, and we'll have a lot of good matches and a lot of good opponents. But the main focus is still on what we're doing on our side of the court and making sure that each and every player is progressing and getting better."
Five Mountaineers, along with student-athletes from 23 other schools, will travel to compete at this year's ITA Atlantic Regionals. This weekend's tournament will be hosted by Liberty University, with all matches taking place at Liberty's Cook Tennis Complex.
