Cashin will compete in the women's mile semifinal on Friday, March 9, at 6:50 p.m. ET, and can advance to Saturday's 5:20 p.m. event final with a top-10 finish. Gardner is entered in the women's pole vault competition, which is set for Saturday, March 10, at 5 p.m.
Texas A&M serves as the host to the two-day national meet at Gilliam Indoor Stadium.
"It is a privilege and honor to be competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships," WVU coach Sean Cleary said. "These young ladies have done an incredible job navigating their winter season to be lining up with what is without a doubt the finest indoor track and field meet in the world outside of the World Championships. Both Maddie and Amy seem to be relaxed and in a good place with what lies ahead of them."
ESPN3 will provide a live stream of the championship meet starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m., with Saturday's stream set to begin at 5 p.m. A re-air of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 11, at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Live stats for the event are available at NCAA.com.
Cashin is set to compete in her second NCAA Championships of her collegiate career. The Werribee, Victoria, Australia, native also participated in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships, in Eugene, Oregon. For Gardner, the meet marks her first appearance at the National Championships.
Cashin qualified for a spot in the mile with a converted time of 4:36.89 from the UCS Invitational in Winston Salem, North Carolina, on Feb. 17. She enters the national meet ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 Conference and No. 2 in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the event.
The redshirt senior earned a pair of All-Big 12 honors at the Big 12 Indoor Championship, from Feb. 23-24, in Ames, Iowa, as she finished fifth in the 3,000 meters and was a member of the fourth-place distance medley relay team.
Gardner, who was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday, arrives to the NCAA Championships after a 2017-18 indoor season that saw her set the indoor school record in the pole vault four times. The Williamstown, West Virginia, native earned a season-best mark of 4.37 meters (14 feet, 4 inches) at the Akron Invitational on Feb. 3.
The jump is good for No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region and No. 2 in the Big 12 this winter. Gardner also ranks eighth nationally in the pole vault ahead of the national meet.
