Rally Time with Lindsay Proctor

Throughout the next couple months, each member of the West Virginia University volleyball team will share their thoughts on what it's like being a Division I student-athlete at West Virginia and what makes being a Mountaineer so special. Next up – freshman Lindsay Proctor.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Hi Mountaineer Nation! It's been too long. Lindsay Proctor here, and I'm ready to blog it up.
I hope everyone has been enjoying their spring as much as I have been! We recently got back from spring break. I went to Florida with a few of my fellow freshmen, and we even saw some of the upperclassmen along the way. I got the slightest bit of color on my skin in the Florida sun, so not being called out for my paleness has been nice. It's super fun being able to make memories with my teammates on and off the court as well as inside and outside of good ole Morgantown.
Speaking of making memories outside of Morgantown, we just got back from opening our spring season at George Washington University. We played five sets against GW, and won all five! What's better than winning? How about winning and then touring the nation's capital. We were able to walk around Washington, D.C. for a few hours, where we saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, White House and so much more. You name it, we saw it.
After touring Washington, D.C., we headed to Georgetown, where we browsed a little and then ate a nice dinner before heading home on the bus. The bus ride consisted of some music and a March Madness viewing party off my handy laptop. Obviously, March Madness isn't the same anymore without WVU in it, but it will do!
We're back in Morgantown now, and that means back to the gym to keep getting one percent better every day. There's still plenty of practices to continue to improve and plenty of memories to make for the remainder of this spring season!
Only negative thing I can think of is the fact that I was unaware that Kim Kardashian, Kanye and North West were all in Washington, D.C. at the same time as us, and I had no clue. Finding out the day after was a shot to the heart, but I am over it now and ready to take on the rest of spring!
So long my friends.
