MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
Eight members of the West Virginia University track and field team are featured in the Mid-Atlantic Regional indoor rankings this week, as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Three Mountaineers are ranked first in their respective events.

Amy Cashin (women's mile), senior
Shamoya McNeil (women's triple jump) and redshirt junior
Madelin Gardner (women's pole vault) all top the regional rankings in their events, while junior
Danique Bryan ranks second in the women's triple jump. Redshirt senior
Maggie Drazba is listed as third in the women's 3,000 meters.
Cashin's time of 4:41.17 in the women's mile, at the Penn State National Open, on Jan. 27, tops the third edition of the Mid-Atlantic Regional event rankings, as does McNeil's mark of 12.82 meters (42 feet, 0.75 inches) in the women's triple jump from the Akron Invitational, on Feb. 3.
For Gardner, her WVU indoor school-record mark of 4.37 meters (14 feet, 4 inches) in the women's pole vault, which was set at the Akron Invitational, also leads the region. The Williamstown, West Virginia, native is one of four Mountaineer pole vaulters ranked in the region's top eight this week.
Bryan earned a mark of 12.36 meters (40 feet, 6.75 inches) in the women's triple jump at the Penn State National Open, which sits just behind McNeil at the top of the regional rankings. Bryan also is ranked No. 8 in the women's long jump after she earned a mark of 5.73 meters (18 feet, 9.75 inches) at the Akron Invitational.
Additionally, Drazba's personal-best time of 9:27.37 in the women's 3,000 meters at the Penn State National Open is good for third-best in the region.
As a team, WVU was slotted sixth in this week's Mid-Atlantic Regional team rankings.
The Mountaineers will travel to a pair of meets this weekend. WVU is set to compete at the Marshall Invitational from Feb. 9-10, in Huntington, West Virginia, while select members of the team are set to participate in Boston University's David Hemery Invite on Feb. 9.
