WVU's Huggins on Naismith Hall of Fame Ballot

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men's basketball coach Bob Huggins' name is once again on the ballot for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2019, announced this morning.
Huggins has won 851 career games at Walsh, Akron, Cincinnati, Kansas State and West Virginia during a 37-season coaching career that includes 24 trips to the NCAA Tournament and two appearances in the Final Four.
Huggins' Mountaineers face Jacksonville State this afternoon in a non-conference matchup at the WVU Coliseum that will be televised locally on AT&T Sportsnet.
Former West Virginia University player, coach and athletic director Fred Schaus is also a direct-elect candidate for the Hall of Fame from the veterans category.
A press conference announcing the Finalists from the North American and Women's committee for the Class of 2019 will be held during NBA All-Star Weekend, which is scheduled for Friday, February 15th in Charlotte, North Carolina. The entire Class of 2019, including those selected by the direct elect committees, will be unveiled during the NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Enshrinement festivities will take place in Springfield, Mass., September 5-7, 2019. Tickets for the various Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2019 Enshrinement events are on sale as of noon eastern time on www.hoophall.com.
