MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Jevon Carter's smashing NBA debut with Memphis set Twitter ablaze last Saturday night, the former All-American guard scoring 11 points in the Grizzlies' 105-97 loss to the Houston Rockets.
But JC is not the only Mountaineer player active in professional basketball.
Far from it.
Several are playing professionally overseas, according to Marek Wojtera, sports IT solutions director for the websites Eurobasket.com, usbasket.com and probasketballoverseas.com, among others.
Wojtera produces weekly reports tracking the best performing players from U.S. colleges playing professionally overseas such as Devin Ebanks, who recently scored 32 points and grabbed four rebounds in a 91-84 loss to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne in France.
In 14 games with Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket, the former Mountaineer forward is averaging 22.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Gary Browne, a 6-1 guard who last played for WVU in 2015, is also enjoying a fine season playing professionally in Israel. Browne is averaging 13.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game for Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona, and he scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out seven assists in a recent 83-78 victory over second-ranked Hapoel Holon.

Myers scored 22 points in a recent loss to Nassjo in the Sweedish Basketligan.
Center D'or Fischer, who spent two years playing for John Beilein's Mountaineers in 2004-05, is also still going strong in Japan. Fischer earned game MVP honors with his 23-point, 14-rebound performance in leading his Shiga L-Stars team to a 78-70 victory over fifth-ranked Fukuoka Rizing in the Japanese B League last Saturday night.
Fischer, also a naturalized citizen of Israel, is averaging 13.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game so far this season.
And, Daxter Miles Jr. has remained in the states where he is playing for the Northern Arizona Suns in the NBA G League. The 6-3 guard scored 22 points in their loss Sunday night to the Memphis Hustle, and he's currently averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
