WVU Now at No. 20 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team has moved to No. 20 in the latest Associated Press Poll, released on Monday.
The Mountaineers (16-4) ranked at No. 16 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Top 25 Poll released last week. The next USA Today Poll is slated for Tuesday.
WVU earned 202 points and is one of five Big 12 teams to appear in the rankings. Baylor (17-1), who the Mountaineers host on Sunday, moved up another spot to No. 3 as the top Big 12 school with 726 points while Texas (15-3) jumped three spots to No. 6 with 584 points. Oklahoma State (14-4) ranks one spot ahead of WVU at No. 19. After receiving votes, TCU (13-5) comes in at No. 24.
The Mountaineers went 1-1 on the road last week. WVU dropped a 79-73 contest at Oklahoma State on Wednesday before rebounding with a 69-59 win at Iowa State on Sunday. Senior forward Teana Muldrow posted double-doubles in both contests and is tied for the Big 12 lead with 10 this season.
West Virginia returns home to host Texas Tech on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. tip from the WVU Coliseum. The game will be aired live locally on Nexstar.
