For her efforts, the St. Marys, West Virginia, native earned All-Big 12 honors, as did redshirt senior Amy Cashin, who finished 13th in a time of 20:44.0. Saturday marked the first time WVU finished with multiple runners being named to the All-Big 12 team since 2014. In all, WVU featured three runners in the top 25 of the championship's field of 87.
"This team has run well every time it has lined up this season," WVU coach Sean Cleary said. "While fourth place was not the goal today, I am still very proud of this performance. In two weeks, we will line up at the NCAA Regional Championships and will do so with the belief that we will be an even better version of today's team. I am very happy for Maggie and Amy being named to the All-Big 12 team."
The Mountaineers finished with 115 team points, behind No. 23 Iowa State (49), Oklahoma State (89) and Texas (90). Baylor placed fifth with a score of 117 to round out the top five.
