MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Bob Huggins’ West Virginia Mountaineers are back in the top 10.
After last Friday’s 92-75 victory at Oklahoma State, West Virginia (12-1) has jumped four spots in this week’s AP poll to No. 7. It is also the first time WVU has reached the top 10 this season.
It’s the Mountaineers’ highest ranking since January 18 of last year when they reached No. 6, and the 26th week West Virginia has been ranked in the top 10 under Huggins since returned to his alma mater for the 2008 season.
WVU also checks in at No. 7 in this week’s USA Today coaches’ poll.
West Virginia returns to action on Tuesday night at 11-2 Texas Tech in a Big 12 game that will be televised nationally on ESPNEWS.
The Mountaineers’ next home game is Saturday, January 7, against TCU, which is now coached by former Pitt coach Jamie Dixon. The Horned Frogs are 11-2 this year under Dixon with their two losses coming against SMU and Kansas.
The TCU game is a Family Day, meaning fans can get four tickets and a $25 concessions voucher for only $70, a $39 savings.
Family Day tickets are available through WVUGAME.com or by calling the Mountaineer Ticket Office toll-free at 1-800-WVU GAME.
