Huggins Announces Another Signing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins has announced that Teddy Allen has signed a national letter of intent for the 2017-18 academic year.
Allen, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound wing from Mesa, Arizona, currently attends Boys Town High in Omaha, Nebraska. He played in 17 games during the second semester at Boys Town last year and made the All-Nebraska Second Team and Class C-1 First Team after averaging 26.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He shot 47 percent from the field, 41 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the foul line, playing at Boys Town for coach Tom Krehbiel.
“Teddy is a very good scorer who can score the ball in a variety of ways,” Huggins said. “He is another guy who can play multiple positions because of his size and length.”
Allen has a 6-foot-8 wingspan and 9-inch-long hands. He played AAU basketball with the OSA 17U National team. Allen had 30-plus point performances against two top AAU programs in Las Vegas this summer against E1T1 and the Indy Hoosiers.
Allen previously attended Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, Arizona. He averaged 18.7 points and 6.7 rebounds as a sophomore and 14.6 points and 3.8 rebounds as a freshman.
Allen joins D’Angelo Hunter (Louisville, Ky., Navarro College) and Brandon Knapper (South Charleston, W.Va., South Charleston HS, Hargrave Military Academy) in the 2016-17 recruiting class.
The November signing period continues through next week.
