WVU Adds ECU Intercollegiate to Slate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following the cancellation of last’s week Primland Collegiate Invitational, the West Virginia University golf team has added the East Carolina Intercollegiate to the spring schedule.
Hosted by the ECU Pirates, the tournament will be played April 3-4 at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina. The course at Brook Valley is a par-72 that runs 6,831 yards.
“It was unfortunate that we were not able to get in any golf at Primland,” said WVU coach Sean Covich. “I know Coach Jerry Haas at Wake Forest was disappointed because he put together a great field but sometimes Mother Nature just doesn’t cooperate. That being said, East Carolina and Coach Press McPhaul have been gracious enough to add us into their spring event. Most of these tournaments are planned years in advance so we are very appreciative of ECU, who by the way, will be in our event in two weeks at Pete Dye Golf Club.”
West Virginia will host the second annual Mountaineer Intercollegiate on Oct. 10-11 at Pete Dye Golf Club.
