MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team returned to the Associated Press poll at No. 25, as released by the organization on Monday.
The Mountaineers (15-4, 4-2 Big 12) are coming off a 72-35 win over Kansas on Saturday and a narrow five-point loss at No. 4-ranked Baylor earlier in the week. WVU’s victory over the Jayhawks gave the Mountaineers their first sweep since the 2014 season.
West Virginia returns to the AP Poll for the first time since being ranked No. 21 on Dec. 22, 2014. WVU garnered 54 points for No. 25 and were 28 tallies behind No. 24 DePaul. There were three other Big 12 programs represented in the Top 25: No. 4 Baylor, No. 6 Texas and No. 19 Oklahoma.
West Virginia resumes action on Sunday, Jan. 24 in a 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT contest at TCU. The game is televised regionally on FOX Sports Southwest.
