MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Multiple Mountaineers earned recognition by the Big 12 Conference for their efforts during the season, as the conference announced today its 2015 postseason awards.

 

Senior linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski earned All-Big 12 First Team distinction. Kwiatkoski ranks first on WVU and No. 16 in the Big 12 with 80 tackles, while also adding 10 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, three sacks and three interceptions.

 

Junior defensive back Daryl Worley was named to the All-Big 12 First Team. Worley ranks first in the Big 12 with six interceptions and 18 passes defended. He has made 49 tackles with two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

 

Senior punter Nick O’Toole picked up All-Big 12 First Team honors, as he ranks first in the Big 12 and No. 6 nationally, averaging 45.7 yards per punt. He has 26 punts of 50-plus yard and has dropped 24 punts inside the 20-yard line. O’Toole previously earned second-team honors in 2013.

 

Junior running back Wendell Smallwood, junior offensive lineman Tyler Orlosky and senior defensive back KJ Dillon were named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.

 

Orlosky has started all 25 games during the last two seasons. He has played a key role on a rushing offense that ranks No. 2 in the Big 12.

 

Smallwood is second in the Big 12 in rushing yards per game with 120.6, and he has 1,447 total rushing yards this season. Smallwood averages 6.4 yards per carry and has nine touchdowns.

 

Dillon has made 49 tackles this year, including 7.5 tackles for loss with two interceptions and eight pass breakups.

 

Senior linebacker Jared Barber, sophomore wide receiver Shelton Gibson, senior defensive back Karl Joseph, junior kicker Josh Lambert, junior defensive lineman Noble Nwachukwu and sophomore fullback Elijah Wellman earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.

 

Selections are made by the league's 10 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players.
