Cross Country: WVU to Race at NCAA Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 7 West Virginia University cross country team is set to race at the 2009 NCAA Women's Division I Championship on Monday, Nov. 23, at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. Race time is set for 12:58 p.m.
This season marks the Mountaineers third-straight and sixth overall appearance at the NCAA Championship. Other appearances occurred in 1997, 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2008.
Last season the Mountaineers finished in fourth place for the highest-ever finish in school history. Junior Keri Bland led the team and finished 14th with a time of 20:20, while classmate Marie-Louise Asselin finished 17th with a time of 20:27. With their top-40 individual finish, Bland and Asselin earn All-America honors for the second consecutive year.
Racing this season will be seniors Bland, Asselin and Clara Grandt, sophomores Kate Harrison, Kaylyn Christopher, Ahna Lewis and redshirt freshman Sarah-Anne Brault.
This year's championships are set to be nationally televised on Versus Network.
