The Mountaineers were one of 13 teams to receive a bid to compete in the Championships, set for Monday, Nov. 23, at the LaVern Gribson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The women's race is set to begin at 12:58 p.m.
"I preach as a coach that we must maximize the opportunities that we have in life. We have a week to fine tune our mental and physical state in preparation for the national championship," coach Sean Cleary says. "I am really looking forward to watching how this group handles the adversity that we have had to endure over the last few weeks and come together as a group with the pride and respect for each other in this our last our last cross country race together."
WVU is coming off a third place showing at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, where five Mountaineers were named to the all-region team.
Senior Clara Grandt was the first Mountaineer to cross the line with an eighth-place showing (20:53).
