Cross Country: Mountaineers No. 4

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University cross country team is ranked No. 4 in this week's national poll the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today. WVU received the ranking as it prepares for the BIG EAST Championship this weekend in Kenosha, Wis.
The top five spots in the rankings remained the same this week, as Washington holds the No. 1 spot with 360 votes, while Villanova received 346. Colorado is in third (331), followed by the Mountaineers (329) and Florida (311).
WVU remains in the No. 2 spot regionally, also announced this week.
After two weeks of rest, the Mountaineers are preparing for the conference championship set for Saturday, Oct. 31, on Marquette's campus. Last season, WVU finished in second behind Villanova, while senior Marie-Louise Asselin was the overall individual champion.
