Cross Country: No. 4 WVU to Race at Paul Short

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 4 West Virginia University Cross Country team is set to travel to Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday, Oct. 2, for the Paul Short Invitational on the campus of Lehigh. WVU will compete in the Gold Race set for 11:45 a.m.
Running this weekend for the Mountaineers will be Kaylyn Christopher, Kate Harrison, Jessica O'Connell, Sarah-Anne Brault, Karly Hamric, Maria Dalzot, Stephanie Caruso, Hallie Portner, Aubrey Moskal and Jamie Cokeley.
WVU will also have four runners, Brenna Hagerty, Katie Burda, Lauren Moskal and Mandy Mc Bean competing in the 10 a.m. open race.
Last season at the Paul Short Invite, the Mountaineers took first with 47 team points out of 43 teams, while BIG EAST foe Villanova took second (78).
WVU is currently ranked No. 1 in the mid-Atlantic region after a first-place showing at the Mid-West Open. Senior Clara Grandt led the Mountaineers, finishing first overall with the fastest course time in over 20 years (17:00.1).
