Alex Shaw joined West Virginia University Athletics as a Sports Physical Therapy Fellow in July 2025.
Shaw previously worked as a Sports Physical Therapy Resident at M Health Fairview/University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, Shaw provided physical therapy services to patients, University of Minnesota student-athletes and assisted athletic trainers with treatment for the Minnesota football program.
Prior to working for the University of Minnesota, Shaw held positions as a student physical therapist at the National Dizzy and Balance Center, TRIA Orthopedics, St. Mary's Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Orthopedics in Grand Junction, Colorado. Shaw also worked as a student physical therapist while pursuing a B.S. in kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Shaw earned a B.S. in kinesiology in 2020 and a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) in 2024 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
