Farris Murad joined West Virginia University Athletics as a graduate assistant for athletic communications in July 2026.
Murad joins the staff after serving as an intern in the department for four years. As an intern, he assisted extensively with football communications responsibilities such as editing media guides, press releases and rosters. Murad also helped setup weekly and postgame press conferences for the football team.
Along with his responsibilities with football, Murad was the lead athletic communications contact for the rowing program at WVU. He directed media days, wrote press releases, edited the media guide and assisted with social media responsibilities for the rowing program. He was the only intern during his time with the department who was responsible for a sport as an athletic communications contact.
Murad is originally from Charleston, West Virginia, and is a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School.
He earned a B.S. in sport management from WVU, and is pursuing a M.S. in sport management while working as a graduate assistant.
