Marija Medelinskaite joined the Mountaineer Rowing Program as a graduate assistant coach in 2020.
Medelinskaite came to WVU after spending a year coaching the varsity girl's squad and a master's level team at the Casitas Rowing Club in Ventura, California.
Prior to that, she rowed competitively as a student-athlete at UCF from 2015-19. During her time in Orlando, she competed in the Varsity Eight all four years and helped lead the Golden Knights to four American Athletic Conference titles, four NCAA Rowing Championship appearances and a Top 20 national finish each year.
Medelinskaite was an All-American Athletic Conference Academic honoree for four years, second team as a freshman and first-place distinction her final three years. She graduated from UCF with her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies (communications & social science and human behavior) with a minor in early childhood education and development in 2019 and is currently working on her master's degree in coaching and sport education.

A native of Kaunas, Lithuania, Medelinskaite was a varsity rower for five years while in high school.
