Charles Montgomery joined the athletics communications staff as an assistant director of athletics communications/operations in February 2025 after serving two years as a graduate assistant in communications.
He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from West Virginia University in December 2021. He also earned a master's in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University in December 2024.
Charles serves as the primary media contact for wrestling and men's and women's swimming and diving at WVU. He also works as the in-game host for home WVU women's basketball games.
Following graduation in 2021, he spent 18 months as a digital reporter at WAFF 48 News in Huntsville, Alabama. Charles is from Grant, Alabama, which is just outside Huntsville, and resides in Morgantown.
