2021-22 (Sophomore)

• At the Big 12 Championships, Schaefer took sixth in the 200 breast (1:58.90), seventh in the 100 breast (54.79) and appeared in the consolation finals of the 200 IM (1:49.86)
• Touched first in the 200 breast (2:01.40), second in the 100 breast (55.63) and third with the 200 medley relay (1:30.55) at the WVU Invitational; additionally, he appeared in the B final of the 200 IM (1:52.34)
• Against PSU, he finished second in the 200 breast (2:08.01) and fourth in the 100 breast (57.87); swam with the 200 free relay (2nd – 1:27.46) and the 400 medley relay (4th – 3:26.17)
• Won the 200 breast with a time of 2:09.18 and took second in the 100 breast (55.72) at WV State Games; also competed in the 100 back (12th – 55.72) and the 200 IM (7th – 1:59.34)
• Was a member of the 200 medley relay (2nd – 1:34.06), the 200 free relay (3rd – 1:28.86) and the 400 medley relay (2nd – 3:29.82) at the State Games

2020-21 (Freshman)

• All-Big 12 Second Team
• At Big 12 Championships, he finished sixth overall in the 100 breast (55:27) and fifth overall in the 200 breast (1:59.54)
• Also appeared in the 200 medley relay (1:30.92) and B Finals of the 200 IM (10th - 1:50.54) at Conference Championships
• Took fourth-place in four different events against Notre Dame, including the 400 medley relay (3:19.20), the 100 breast (56.15), the 200 medley relay (1:30.42) and the 200 breast (2:02.29); also competed in the 200 IM (8th - 1:54.64) and the 200 free relay (7th - 1:25.05)
• Placed third in the 200 breast (2:05.01) and the 200 medley relay (1:29.94), and sixth-place in the 100 breast (57.28) at WVU's season-opening meet at Pitt
